What is the difference between nanothermia, radiotherapy and conventional hyperthermia?
Nanothermia is a selective therapy that uses electromagnetic energy to produce heating focused exclusively on the tumor. On the other hand, hyperthermia (oncothermia) produces heating of the entire area where it is applied and the temperatures fail to penetrate the interior of the tumor. In different cases it has been shown that hyperthermia, by generating heat, brings more blood to the tumor, which triggers metastasis.
While radiotherapy produces necrosis, inflammation, toxicity and long-term side effects, nanothermia generates programmed cell death (apoptosis) of tumor cells.

How to explain the selectivity on cancer cells?
Nanothermia generates an electromagnetic field that is absorbed by cancer cells. This absorption is due to the acidic pH of malignant cells. This absorption of electrons (through the electromagnetic field) generates heat that destroys cell membranes and consequently causes irreparable damage, stimulating the death of the malignant cell.
